This soap contains locally sourced products from sustainable plantations, such as coconut, cacao, tamanu and niang (turmeric). The wonderful healing qualities of coconut oil, combined with other locally sourced, natural ingredients, has meant that Coconut Project have been able to produce a soap which cleans deeply but gently.
Virgin Coconut Oil: A single coconut tree produces coconuts quickly and regularly for up to 75 years. When prepared naturally and traditionally, using a wet-milling process and with minimal heating, the coconut contains a powerful list of antioxidants, and because of its unaltered chemical structures, it is readily absorbed into the skin.
Tamanu Oil: Tamanu oil is recognised for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities. It helps heal wounds, cuts, scrapes and skin diseases quickly and effectively. It also acts as a natural deodorant. The oil also contains high levels of antioxidants.
This soap was produced by Palm Project. Palm Project is a community enterprise on Uluveu Island, Vanuatu, which initially started as a community venture to improve health outcomes. Today it has developed into a successful community development project with widespread health, social, and economic benefits.
