Collapsed trachea is characterised by the weakening or narrowing of the trachea, the tube that carries air from the nose and mouth to the lungs. In dogs, this condition typically affects small breeds such as Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians, and Chihuahuas.

The symptoms of tracheal collapse can cause

• coughing
• wheezing
• difficulty breathing
• and sometimes even fainting or collapsing, especially during excitement or physical activity
